In the field of CYMATICS, the ivibe.life team (Simon Kopfberger, Rita Newman, Eric Kaltenbrunner & Heinz Hanko) is experimenting with interactive experience of aesthetic sound visualization in water. A photo-audio station on site were installed, where visitors can interactively visualize their voice. The recorded individual voice is transferred into an oscillating resonance phenomenon which amplifies characteristic sonic vibrational patterns. The shapes that are formed by bouncing water are unique resonance vibration patterns. They are distinguished by extreme regularity in relation to number, measure and symmetry. These polygons, curves and patterns all follow mathematical and geometrical universal laws and appear in nature. An operator controlled the experiment, guides the visitor through the recording, explains which knobs to turn (gently) to generate the resonance pattern and takes pictures of the emerging geometric patterns. The image is printed for the visitor at the end of a session. ARS Festival Sept. 2023

Aura as Resonance

Sacred Geometry, Self-Reflection and the Visible Field

Seeing the Aura

What does an aura look like?

This question became the starting point of the exhibition DIVA © Rita Newman at the Fine Art Gallery Nov+Dec 2025 in Lower Austria. Auras are often described as something we sense rather than see — a presence, an atmosphere, an energetic quality. But what if this field could take form?

The works in this series are based on cymatic resonance photography — images created by sound vibrations moving through water. These patterns reveal an intrinsic order: geometry emerging directly from frequency. In this context, the aura is approached not as a fixed image, but as a dynamic field of vibration — structured, responsive, and in constant transformation.

Archetypes, Chakras and Color

The installation is built around five archetypal feminine figures — the Wild One, the Lover, the Creator, the Healer and the Wise. These archetypes are rooted in what C. G. Jung described as the collective unconscious: universal patterns that appear across cultures as symbols, myths, and inner states.

Each figure is connected to a specific energy center within the body, known as a chakra — a concept originating in ancient Indian traditions more than 3000 years ago. These centers are associated with distinct colors, qualities and emotional themes. Each aura in the exhibition reflects one of these centers — expressed through a corresponding color field and vibrational geometry.

The Aura as Field

The visualized auras can be understood as artistic interpretations of an electromagnetic field — the subtle field that surrounds and permeates every living being.

Created through resonance photography, these images make patterns of vibration visible. The field can be seen as a carrier of information, emotion and identity — something that can be perceived, mirrored and, perhaps, even influenced.

Reflection as Experience

The works are printed on reflective black surfaces, allowing the viewer to physically enter the image. Instead of observing from a distance, one encounters oneself within the field.

This transforms the work from image into experience.
The aura is no longer something attributed — it becomes something relational. The installation invites an active form of engagement.

Visitors are encouraged to reflect:
Which qualities feel familiar?
Which evoke a response?

The experience becomes a subtle process of self-recognition through resonance.

What we are may not be static — but vibrational. Each work becomes a mirror — not of appearance, but of presence.

Daniel Spoerri

On August 26th, 2023, artist Rita Newman and multimedia developer Eric Kaltenbrunner installed a compact version of the iVibe Resonance Sphere inside the Orangerie at the Spoerri Exhibition Hall.

This interactive photo-audio station invited visitors to visualize their own voice in real time. By speaking into a microphone, their unique vocal frequency was transferred into a resonating water medium—creating mesmerizing vibrational patterns captured through photography.

Each voice produced a one-of-a-kind geometric sound mandala—a moment of identity made visible. As a memento, every participant received a printed A5 photograph of their personal voice resonance pattern.

This experience made the invisible world of frequency and sacred geometry directly tangible—bridging sound, science, and self-awareness.

When Values Resonate

Some client relationships grow into friendships over the years – united by shared values and a deep sense of purpose. This is the case with CULUMNATURA®, pioneers in holistic, natural hair care and sustainable cosmetics.

Their four-member leadership team visited my studio to bring their guiding principle “We connect beauty with nature – protecting all living beings and Mother Earth” to resonate in the Interactive Resonance Sphere.

The result? A unique visual sound mandala now graces the cover of their atento magazine.
